Meet the doctor

ENDODONTIST JOSHUA PRUDEN, DDS

Dr. Joshua Pruden grew up in the town of Dunbar, West Virginia. He attended West Virginia University, earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the WVU School of Dentistry in 2012.

After graduation, Dr. Pruden entered the United States Army and has been stationed in Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia. During this time, he developed a passion for relieving dental pain and maintaining patients’ natural dentition. This led him to pursue a specialty education in endodontics. In 2018, Dr. Pruden earned his certificate in Endodontics and his Master of Science in Oral Biology through the US Army Endodontics Residency in Augusta, Georgia. Upon graduation, he practiced endodontics for three years in the Washington DC region at Fort Belvoir, and on staff at the Walter Reed Endodontic Residency. Dr. Pruden returned to his home state of West Virginia in the summer of 2021, and he is excited to raise his family in southern West Virginia!

Dr. Pruden spends time volunteering as faculty at WVU as well as at West Virginia Health Right. He has also completed multiple volunteer trips with Medical Missions Outreach (MMO), most recently assisting with much-needed dental care in Honduras (2023), with an additional planned trip to the Dominican Republic in 2024.

As a board-certified endodontist, Dr. Pruden focuses on evidence-based practices and delivering quality, compassionate care to his patients. In his spare time, he focuses his energy on his six children: Elias, Elliana, Micah, Liam, Maggie, and Henry. Dr. Pruden loves to spend time outdoors and playing music on his guitar, mandolin, and piano.
